The fees are set and the hotel rooms are ready for the premiere barbershop music venue in the Pacific --the 5th Pan Pacific Convention, to be held in Honolulu, Hawaii, October 30 -November 2, 2008. The best way to start warming up for the competitions is to register early

Early Registration fees are set at $175US for individuals, $35US for chorus base fee, and $40US for quartets. After March 31, 2008, Regular Registration fees will be $190US for individuals, $40US for chorus base fee, and $50Us for quartets. Go to website www.panpacificharmony.org for convenient, online registration.

While at www.panpacificharmony.org, registrants can download the room reservation form for the Ala Moana Hotel, convention headquarters. The hotel is located next to Ala Moana Center, one of the largest shopping malls in the U.S., and Ala Moana Beach Park, with family friendly beaches and picnic areas.

"We are delighted that we have been able to keep registration costs low," said Convention Chairman Don Raymond, "And we hope this encourages every Pan Pacific barbershopper to plan on attending."

"The members of the Sounds of Aloha Chorus have been and will continue to work hard to ensure that each attendee has a memorable barbershop experience," said Raymond.

The competition will take place at the historic Hawaii Theatre (www.hawaiitheatre.com), rich in history with barbershop singing. The Sounds of Aloha was the first act to reopen the restored theater in May 1996 and has held its annual show there ever since. All the seats in the house are good ones.

The convention will feature barbershop singers from New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Alaska, Hawaii, and other parts of the Far Western and Evergreen Districts.
